IT was back to the grindstone for builder Eddie the Eagle Edwards after he swooped to victory in the Saturday night TV diving show Splash!

The Woodchester dad-of-two, who is better known as Britain's only Olympic ski jumper-turned reality TV show celebrity, was happy to be back at his day job.

In his golden eagle trunks he won the public's hearts and their votes ahead of Benidorm star Jake Canuso and TV interior designer Linda Barker on the ITV show hosted by 2012 Olympic diving star Tom Daley.

"I have got to start work on building a house in the village and there's a roofing job to do for a friend," said the modest BBC Winter Wipeout Celebrity Special winner and Let's Dance for Sport Relief finalist.

"This kind of thing comes along as and when but, perhaps, Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing on Ice will call."

Eddie, 49, would not rule out a return to another Splash! series, where he would like to see model Kelly Brook taking part.

"It would be nice to see her in a bikini," he joked.
